Emirates Steel, the only integrated steel plant in the UAE, owned by Senaat, has participated in the Arab Steel Summit 2016 and the associated International Iron and Steel Exhibition 2016 launched yesterday in Conrad Dubai Hotel, UAE, with participation of more than 160 delegates from around the region.
The annual specialized forum; organized by the Arab Iron and Steel Union; witnessed participation of leading Iron and Steel companies in the Arab region such as Emirates Steel, SABIC, RAJHI Steel, EZZ Steel and other leading steel companies from Morocco, Algeria, and other Arab countries producing steel, and will conclude its activities on 19th October 2016.
On the first day of the Summit Emirates Steel participated at the Summit with a presentation about the steel sector in the Arab region which highlighted issues of trade, regulations and cooperation. The presentation also detailed issues of steel exports and imports, consumption and capacities.
Discussions tackled topics related to competitive position and growth strategies within the Arab Steel Industries, opportunities and trends of investment and prospects for the world steel industry in 2016, the impact of oil price fluctuation on the development of the steel industry investments and many other issues.
Meanwhile, the first day of the International Iron and Steel Exhibition 2016 witnessed positive participation from exhibitors, as a prominent platform to display iron and steel products, solutions and technologies, and provided a great networking opportunity for producers, customers and stakeholders.
Participation reflected Emirates Steel keenness to be part of this specialized forum to reinforce its leadership position in the iron and steel industry within the region, considering the current conditions dominating the sector in the region and the whole world, considering that the event also served as an ideal forum to exchange insights and ideas, and coordinate among the Union’s members on all levels.
