Emirates Steel, the only integrated steel plant in the UAE, owned by Senaat, has held last week an employee blood drive “Drop of Giving” as part of its ongoing commitment to support the health needs of the UAE community. The drive was held in partnership with the Blood Bank in Abu Dhabi.
A mobile van organized by Blood Bank staff members set up a portable donation site at the Company’s HQ where Emirates Steel’s employees signed up to participate in the blood drive which yielded enough blood to help save many lives.
H.E. Saeed Ghumran AI Remeithi said: We are very proud of the generous support of our employees. The same dedication they bring to their jobs every day was again evidenced by their desire to help meet the needs of their community”.
The drive exceeded its goal and blood units were collected by the end of the two days donation campaign. The blood collected will cover part of the needs of public and private hospitals in Abu Dhabi as well as other Emirates.
Emirates Steel’s initiative comes in-line with the spirit of “The Year of Giving 2017” declared by the UAE’s President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and reflects the values of giving inherited by the UAE’s Founding Father Sheikh Zayed and through his legacy to make a difference in people’s lives and in society.
