In keeping with the spirit of caring during the holy month of Ramadan, Emirates Steel, the largest integrated steelmaker in the UAE, owned by Senaat, distributed Food stock basket to several hundred laborers at the industrial area in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. Several of its employees packed and distributed meal boxes to the workers breaking their fasts.
Emirates Steel contributed generously to the initiative which was organised under its CSR theme of We Give You Smile’. The CSR initiative began before the onset of Ramadan with the distribution of pre-Ramadan Meer boxes containing essential edible items that last the duration of the holy month. The Iftar for labourers is part of the tradition of caring and in keeping with the spirit of Ramadan.
Commenting on the effort by scores of Emirates Steel employees that made the labourers’ iftar possible, HE Saeed Ghumran Al Romaithi, Emirates Steel’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am pleased to extend our CSR campaign to labourers, in Abu Dhabi. We are keen to support humanitarian and charitable initiatives, especially during the holy month and this iftar one such initiative. In addition to serving our various communities, such initiatives also promote engagement and inclusion among our staff and partners. This year, Ramadan has been a wonderful experience for our employees and we are satisfied with our level of engagement with our community.” Ramadan is a time for reflection, spiritual renewal and peace. It is a time when people share their blessings with family and friends. The labourer’s Iftar organised by Emirates Steel upheld the spirit of Ramadan as al. the values of the UAE, which include hospitality, tolerance and openness.
