During the World Steel Association 50° Annual Conference currently taking place for the first time in Dubai. H.E. Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, CEO, Emirates Steel, participated; alongside regional industry leaders; in the main discussion panel focusing on the Middle East and North Africa steel market. The panel debated issues like the market status and forecasts in the region.
Day two of the conference also included a presentation analysing the “Short Range Outlook” which gave attendees an overview of world steel economic forecasts and how they will affect steel demand up until the end of 2017. The SRO reflected macro economy indicators that will affect the steel demand in the global market as a whole, as well as in regional markets. SRO presentation was followed by the Middle East and North Africa steel study presentation and the discussion panel.
The day also saw the Annual General Meeting of the World Steel Association members, the Board of Directors meeting and different fruitful breakout sessions that allowed delegates to benefit from open discussion on important topics to them. The conference concluded its activities by the end of the day. The Conference brings together leaders of global steel companies and associations from around the world representing about 85% of the world steel production, world leading steel manufacturers and industry specialists and research centres. Emirates Steel has been part of this world leading excellence hub since 2012.
