For the 6th consecutive year, Emirates Steel, the only integrated steel plant in the UAE, owned by Senaat, partakes at the International Building and Construction Show, Dubai Big 5. The exhibition was inaugurated yesterday at Dubai World Trade Centre and will end on 24Th November 2016.
Emirates Steel was among key participants at the region’s largest construction forum, showcasing its unique steel product range used in the construction sector, including rebar, rebar in coil, wire rod, heavy sections and sheet piles. Moreover, Emirates Steel also demonstrated during the exhibition its efforts in transforming the company into total steel solutions provider with further focus on high value steel products, improved products and service quality in addition to its initiatives related to environmental footprint and safety for workers and customers.
H.E. Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, CEO, Emirates Steel said “under the wise guidance of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, the United Arab Emirates construction market continues to be one of the most vibrant in the GCC. Post 20. crisis, the market has slowly returned to be a vibrant, yet controlled and calibrated while housing the best contractors and fabricators from the region and the world operating in the market and utilizing high technology methods and materials”. He added:” On the other hand, spending on construction and infrastructure projects in the UAE in the past few years has resulted in an increase in the country’s steel production capacity with 5.3 million tons of rebar capacity installed, 1.2 million tons of section capacity and 1.1 million tons of wire rod capacity “.
Emirates Steel’s current product range includes value-added products; a stronger steel with higher tensile strengths and steels with special mechanical properties so that lesser quantity of steel is required by customers, in addition to its range of straight length reinforcing bar (rebar) and rebar in coil, wire rod, hot rolled structural steel sections, which include beams, columns, channels and sheet piles.

Moreover, Emirates Steel has been supplying high-value steel products used in nuclear plant for the first peaceful nuclear energy program for power generation in the country, and has a. introduced a number of additional grades of wire-rod with diverse chemical compositions and distinctive physical properties, offering flexibly to cater for different applications.
